- Complete Edition (Volumes I & II)- A brilliant and deeply fascinating novel that delves into the inability of educational systems to control human passions, Meredith's first full length work was hugely successful. It tells the story of a father raising his son alone and attempting unsuccessfully to implement systems to control the boy. The novel has since been included in the Everyman's Library, The New American Library of World Literature, Oxford's World Classics, and Penguin Classics.- This meticulous edition from Heritage Illustrated Publishing is a faithful reproduction of the original text and is beautifully illustrated with a number of atmospheric historical paintings that reflect the mood of the novel.
