Let songs of honor be addressed; His mercy firm for ever stands ; Give him the thanks his love demands.
2 Who knows the wonders of thy ways? Who shall fulfil thy boundless praise? Blest are the souls that fear thee still, And pay their duty to thy will.
3 Remember what thy mercy did For Jacob's race, thy chosen seed; And with the same salvation bless The meanest suppliant of thy grace.
He gives us all things, and withholds No real good from upright souls.
4 O God, our King, whose sovereign
The glorious hosts of heaven obey, And devils at thy presence flee : Blest is the man that trusts in thee.
(0 THOU, whose hand the kingdom [obeys, Whom earth, and hell, and heaven To help thy chosen sons appear, And show thy power and glory here.
4 O! may I see thy tribes rejoice, And aid their triumphs with my voice! 2 O haste, with every gift inspired, This is my glory, Lord, to be Joined to thy saints, and near to thee.
GREAT God, attend while Zion sings
The joy that from thy presence springs;
With glory, truth, and grace attired. Thou Star of heaven's eternal morn; Thou Sun, whom beams divine adorn!
3 Assert the honor of thy name; [shame; O'erwhelm thy foes with fear and Bid them beneath thy footstool lie, Nor let their souls forever die.
To spend one day with thee on earth, 4 Saints shall be glad before thy face, Exceeds a thousand days of mirth.
2 God is our sun, he makes our day; God is our shield, he guards our way From all th' assaults of hell and sin, From foes without and foes within.
3 All needful grace will God bestow, And crown that grace with glory too :
And grow in love, and truth, and and grace; Thy church shall blossom in thy sight, And yield her fruits of pure delight.
5 O hither, then, thy footsteps bend; Swift as a roe, from hills descend; Mild as the sabbath's cheerfui ray, Till life unfolds eternal day!
JEHOVAH reigns; he dwells in light, Girded with majesty and might: The world, created by his hands, Still on its first foundation stands.
2 But cre this spacious world was made, Or had its first foundation laid, Thy throne eternal ages stood, Thyself the ever-living God.
3 Like floods the angry nations rise, And aim their rage against the skies; Vain floods that aim their rage so high! At thy rebuke the billows die.
4 For ever shall thy throne endure; Thy promise stands for ever sure; And everlasting holiness, Becomes the dwellings of thy grace.
His robes are light and majesty; His glory shines with beams so bright, No mortal can sustain the sight.
2 His terrors keep the world in awe; His justice guards his holy law; His love reveals a smiling face, His truth and promise seal the grace. 3 Thro' all his works his wisdom shines, And baffles Satan's deep designs; His power is sovereign to fulfil The noblest counsels of his will.
4 And will this glorious Lord descend
To be my Father and my friend?
Nor will thy watchful monarch cease To guard thee in eternal peace.

HOU only Sovereign of my heart, My Refuge, my almighty Friend-
And can my soul from thee depart, On whom alone my hopes depend? 2 Whither, ah! whither shall I go, A wretched wanderer from my Lord? Can this dark world of sin and woe One glimpse of happiness afford? 3 Eternal life thy words impart :
On these my fainting spirit lives; Here sweeter comforts cheer my heart, Than all the round of nature gives. 4 Let earth's alluring joys combine; While thou art near, in vain they call; One smile, one blissful smile of thine, My dearest Lord, outweighs them all. 5 Low at thy feet my soul would lie; Here safety dwells, and peace divine; Still let me live beneath thine eye, For life, eternal life, is thine.
JESUS, and shall it ever be,
Ashamed of thee, whom angels praise, Whose glories shine thro' endless days.
Then let my songs with angels join; 2 Ashamed of Jesus! sooner far Heaven is secure, if God is mine.
Let evening blush to own a star; He sheds the beams of light divine O'er this benighted soul of mine. 3 Ashamed of Jesus! just as soon Let midnight be ashamed of noon; 'Tis midnight with my soul, till he, Bright Morning Star, bid darkness flee.
On whom my hopes of heaven depend, No, when I blush, be this my shame, That I no more revere his name.
Though humbled long, awake at length, And gird thee with thy Saviour's 4 Ashamed of Jesus! that dear friend strength.
2 Put all thy beauteous garments on,
And let thy various charms be known: Then, decked in robes of righteousness, 5 Ashamed of Jesus! yes, I may, The world thy glories shall confess.
3 No more shall foes unclean invade, And fill thy hallowed walls with dread; No more shall hell's insulting host Their vict'ry and thy sorrows boast. 4 God, from on high, has heard thy His hand thy ruin shall repair; [pray'r;
When I've no guilt to wash away, No tear to wipe, no good to crave, No fears to quell, no soul to save. 6 Till then-nor is my boasting vain- Till then, I boast a Saviour slain : And O may this my glory be, That Christ is not ashamed of me.
EHOLD the sin-atoning Lamb, With wonder, gratitude, and love; To take away our guilt and shame, See him descending from above! 2 Our sins and griefs on him were laid; He meekly bore the mighty load;
Hast deigned a mortal form to wear, A mortal's painful lot to bear.

To them who seek thee ever near, Now to our praises bend an ear. 2 In thy dear cross a grace is found- It flows from every streaming wound-Oft have I seen thy glory there, Whose power our inbred sin controls, Breaks the firm bond, and frees our souls.

It is the Star of Bethlehem.
3 Once on the raging seas I rode: [dark; The storm was loud, the night was The ocean yawned, and rudely blowed The wind that tossed my foundering bark.
4 Deep horror then my vitals froze; Death-struck, I ceased the tide to stem; When suddenly a star arose!
It was the Star of Bethlehem. 5 It was my guide, my light, my all; It bade my dark forebodings cease; And through the storm, and danger's It led me to the port of peace. [thrall, 6 Now safely moored, my perils o'er, I'll sing, first in night's diadem, For ever and for evermore,
